Lazio's Offer for Mason Greenwood
Lazio President Claudio Lotito has confirmed that the club has made a substantial offer for Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood. Speaking to Messaggero, Lotito detailed the terms of the proposal, which includes €25 million upfront, additional performance-related add-ons, and a significant 50% sell-on clause.
Rival Clubs' Interference
Lotito expressed frustration over interference from rival clubs attempting to thwart the deal. He specifically mentioned Juventus and Napoli as teams that have tried to enter the race for Greenwood, seemingly to disrupt Lazio’s negotiations.“Several clubs tried to enter the race just to disturb us and make the deal collapse… after Juventus also Napoli did the same,” Lotito told Messaggero.
Lazio's Ambitions
This aggressive move by Lazio highlights their ambition to strengthen their squad with young, talented players. Greenwood, who has shown immense potential at Manchester United, could be a significant addition to the Serie A side if the deal goes through. As the transfer window progresses, it remains to be seen whether Lazio’s offer will be accepted and if Greenwood will be making a move to Italy.
